About Us
About rhu jewelry:
radiant. handmade. unique.
I aim to create pieces that contain undertones of Greek mythology into everyday life. Particularly the nymphs- water naiads and wood nymphs are my 'mischievous spark' that inspired me to start merging the blending of crochet, hardware elements, whimsical designs (or) items, and gothic inspiration of the late baroque period into a magical world of rhu jewelry. My style is whimsical/fairy/goth mash ups to create one-of-a-kind pieces for the myriads of individuals there are in this world. I truly feel that no human nor jewelry should be like the other- most of my pieces will be small batch jewelry or one piece of its like. Drawing inspiration from my mother and Grandma, its because of them, I am.
I initially started rhu jewelry for a variety of reasons. I had finished college, and was at the cusp of many adjustments in my life; personally, professionally, my work life and family obligations. I had just graduated College, I was a year out from graduating and there was a need for a job that could provide for myself AND align with evening rehearsals and shows; should I want to audition for local and community theatre. There was the question of "What are you going to do now that you graduated?" and "How are you going to use your degree?" I'd say I was looking for immersing myself back into reconnecting with working with my hands again after spending my early 20's doing large and expansively creative outlets with my body through dance, theater, acting and aerial arts. So, creating a business was an accident. I thought, "Well why not? 2026 is the best time to start a business endeavor". What started as cost-efficient Christmas present(s) for my family and a desire to create art with my hands again (after being in university with no time for my interests)- this hobby suddenly turned into a business overnight. I meant to only softly embrace a long forgotten hobby, and one I am so delighted to embrace thanks to the support of my family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, and wonderous clients. I reflected on when I was in a show at the University of Montana, Metamorphoses. And what a transformative experience that was- a play about transformation, emergence into a new idea or metaphorical presence, the physical and transforming qualities of water, and I knew that I was going to transcend my creative outlets into something I couldn't of imagined if I could step back in time and tell my younger self of her future.
